Team Hostile Intentions wins round 3 of Super 7s Australia

Last weekend saw the third round of Australia’s only national paintball series, Super 7’s. Hostile Intentions (HI) entered the event 2 points clear of their nearest competitor. Having won round 2, every pro team had us in their sights. HI started the event determined to further extend our points lead in the series with a win all but confirming a win in the series.

Day 1, Saturday 21st August. This event included 7 pro teams giving us a total of 6 games plus a by. Round 1 had us matched against Team Raw. HI needed a good start to carry the momentum through the rest of the tournament. This is exactly how it started smashing Raw from the field taking the 5 points required to dispatch Raw in under 7 minutes, out of a possible 10, without dropping a point. This would prove to be one of the few matches won on a max and the only match in less than 7 minutes. Round 2. This round we met Team Menace, one of the most competitive teams at the tournament. Boosted by the addition of Bobby Aviles to their roster, Menace come out strong. HI met the challenge but the round would result in our only timed out draw of the weekend at 2 apiece.

The 3rd round saw us meet our Brisbane training partners, Team Blood Knuckles. BK managed to take 1 point off us in our 3 to 1 win in a timed out match. The 4th and final round of day 1 matched us against Team Explicit. Explicit had been giving the big names a scare in each of their encounters. With this in mind HI hit the field knowing that they would exploit any mistake. After some initial hard fought points, HI took the win 4 to 1 with the final point being completed in the remaining 24 seconds of regulation time.

HI finishes day 1 in equal first place with Team Menace. Knowing we would start tomorrow with our by round, HI headed to the hotel with one thing in mind, kick off day two strong and secure our position as the team to beat. Day 2, Sunday 22nd August. Round 6 and we entered the field with X-Fighters standing at the other end. Knowing this would be a hard fight. With only 3 points completed in the allotted 10 minutes, HI goes down to the X-Fights 1 to 2. After this disappointing loss HI was left to pick up the pieces knowing another loss would cost us a place in the final.

After some game plan modifications and deep soul searching HI hit the field in round 7 against Team SWAT. SWAT has always been strong competitors and we knew that whoever won this encounter would progress to the final, there was allot at stake for both teams. After our loss in round 6 we came out firing taking a one sided win to finish this round 4 to 0. This win confirmed our place in the grand finale to meet Team Menace once more. Having drawn our match in the preliminaries both teams knew this would be a difficult match up.

Grand Finale, HI vs. Menace. Expecting a strong response from Menace HI consolidated our positions and bashed Menace out of their bunkers. Dropping only 1 point in our 5 point smashing, HI confirms its position as Australia’s top paintball team. Now with a 6 point lead all but an act of god could stop HI taking the 2010 Super 7’s series win.

HI would like to thank our principal sponsor Dye Paintball; Dye supplies us with some top gear that has contributed to our success greatly. We would also like to thank Furious Paintball for their excellent batteries and
Skirmish Samford for allowing us to train at their facility and not forgetting our training partners BK and Blade. Last but not least Deholm Smith and the BK boys for all their help in the pits. Without you all HI wouldn’t be the successful team it is today.
