Mont Tremblant, Quebec – August 21,2011 was a great day indeed for Billy Bernacchia and his Canadian based paintball team, Moncton Strict Union, as they won everything there was to win at the CXBL’s (Canadian Xball League) finale. The CXBL is Canada’s premiere competitive paintball league.
“It was a pleasure playing for Strict Union and to see the improvement they made over the year,” says Bernacchia. The CXBL has some solid teams and the competition was great.
Heading into the series finale this past weekend in Mont Tremblant Quebec, Billy and his squad needed to win all 3 of their final matches to guarantee the gold and to have a shot at the number one spot in Canada. Moncton won all three of their matches with scores of 13-6, 17-5 and 11-6.
Moncton Strict Union is comprised of Atlantic Canada’s very best paintball talent combined with some American friends such as Hurricane’s Billy Bernacchia, Avalanche’s Frank “The Tank” Connell, and Hurricane’s Keith Devitt and Alfred De Los Santos.
Team owner and head coach Matt “Matso” Sherwood had this to say “This is a great day for our team and I’m proud of all our Moncton guys and happy to have such great players as Billy, Frank, Keith and Alfred as part of our Strict Union family.”
Moncton Strict Union finished a perfect 8-0-0, in a 4 tournament series hosted over the summer throughout Quebec and Ontario. They defeated top ranked teams with players from all over Canada and the USA.
Bernacchia and his Strict Union team will be heading into the grand finale at the World Cup of paintball as the number one seed in an 8 team tournament to crown the NAX (North American Extreme Paintball) champions in October of this year.

This report just in from Scott Kemp of the Ironmen.
I just got back form the 2011 PSP New Jersey Open. This was the 3rd event for the PSP this year and yet another tough one. This league has the best teams with the best players from all around the world competing in it. It takes a solid team of depth, talent, experience, and hunger to win in the pro division. Room for error is minimal to none. Most the teams in the pro division have never even won an event.
As for my team, Los Angeles Ironmen, we have won a hand full in the PSP pro division, but our last win has been about 2 years ago. The team has been somewhat rebuilt with new young talent stepping up to the plate. We have lost several experienced veterans and replaced them with young hungry kids who are excelling fast! Kyle Spicka, Eric Humphreys, and Chris Catt are 3 of our newest pickups from last year that are young and dyeing to taste a victory. Every event these kids go to they are playing better and better and it’s only a matter of time until the Ironmen are unstoppable again.
This event we ended up in 3rd place and we are currently sitting in 4th for the series. The next event is the last and biggest one of them all, world cup! I believe we have a great shot of winning this event. The mix of young and old talent on my team is perfect. The only thing that can stop us from victory is ourselves.
