Evolution wins the Quito EPPL

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

Team Evolution – Just came back from Quito for the last national event, the EPPL Quito Open 2011. We always have a great time in Quito with all our friends that live there. We arrived on friday morning, walked around the city and got to bed really early. We knew we had a very intense tournament the next morning. Saturday morning arrived and the Quito Open started. Gazzu is the EPPL organizer in Quito and he always puts on great tournaments and this was no exception. There were DYE banners everywhere and a huge DYE booth, with all of the latest Dye gear. In Quito almost every team wears Dye, it is nice to see NTs and DMs everywhere.

The games started and our first  game was against Manta Marines, another, who were just behind us in the series rankings. We managed to beat them 3-1. Then we had our second game against a strong team from Venezuela called Dragones, who we also beat barely 1-0.

Our last 2 games against Checkmate who we beat 3-0 and Zurikatas who we tied 1-1. Sunday came around and it was time for the finals. We had to play against  Dragones in the Semis, we beat them in overtime in a close match. Then the final came against the local team Zurikatas. The stands were full, and at least 500 people were watching the final. We won the game 2-1 and took home the first place trophy and the series as well.

This year is the 10th anniversary of Evolution, and there was no better way to celebrate it, than having the longest winning streak of our history. This year we won 6 tournaments in a row and only lost at the World Cup.

We would like to thanks DYE for the amazing gear and for all the support, we can’t wait to use the 2012 line next year and keep representing the best brand on the paintball market.

TonTon’s win World Cup Asia

Monday, November 21st, 2011

The TonTon team traveled to Malaysia last weekend to represent Europe for the Intercontinental Cup, hosted at the PALS World Cup Asia event. The location in Langkawi was huge! 4 indoor fields in an air conditioned arena, a big Trade Show and the best team from each continent were there to fight for the 1st place.

We spent only 3 days on the island, but because the Intercontinental Cup games were only between 6 and 10 pm, we had a lot of free time to to explore the island. So, we rented some scooters and headed to the beach and did some sight seeing!

We won our 3 prelims games, moving directly to the semi final against STK from Australia.
The points were tight but we advanced, won 4-1 and moved to the final against the LA Ironmen, representing the US.

This final was a tight game too, the Ironmen were leading 2-0 but we found the resources to equalize at 2-2 and finally gain this Cup 4-2. Both teams were shooting with the new DM12, helping the players to improve their skill sets.

Thanks a lot to DYE for the support, this year the Cup belongs to Europe, lets see if we can come back and keep it next year!
