Destiny Clinic with Coach Mike Paxson

Past weekend Mike Paxson took some time of from the competitions and threw a one of his world famous paintball clinics in Las Vegas, Nevada at Extreme Paintball with team Destiny. Paxson is currently sitting in the top 10 ranked players of PSP, by He has won multiple championships and tournaments over his legendary pro paintball career and has taught paintball camps and clinics over 11 years, so he definitely knows what he is talking about.

An extremely good turnout of approximately 60 players attended both days. It all started close to the crack of dawn, with players arriving at 6am to start training by 7am. The one-day clinic on Saturday full of drills and scrimmages took place all before the Vegas heat was able to reach its highest of 110 degrees. Then on Sunday, 7 teams were scheduled to play in a rotation with very little break in between games. Mike Paxson was there to give each team pointers on what would make their team better. All different divisions and even a beginner team was there. Paxson even jumped in during the games to give younger and less experienced players a chance to play against a pro.

Local Vegas players and local team, Northside Empire, didn’t mind waking up earlier than usual business hours at the amazing paintball facility known as Vegas Xtreme. It wasn’t only local players that attended, either. Players from all across the country came from California, Florida, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington. Even rookie all-female team hailing from San Diego, Thorns on Roses, attended. Teams really enjoyed playing against Destiny and Paxson, because of their diverse levels of talent.

Destiny X will have an all-female line and an all-male line and will compete in both D2 and in D4, which is set to debut at the PSP World Cup October 25-28. All Destiny teams will be coached by Head Coach, Mike Paxson, and assistant coaches, Rocky Cagnoni, Bea Paxson, Norman Woo, and Sonny Lopez.

Looks like everyone had a fun time. Great anticipation for when DestinyX teams play. Enjoyed and learned a lot from the Destiny clinic in honor of Christian Lon. Keep up the great work and can’t wait to attend another Mike Paxson clinic!

Vegas Xtreme is one of the best fields we’ve been to. They keep it very clean, have an arcade inside their building, concession, seating with a flat screen tv playing paintball videos, paintball store with plenty of DYE products amongst others, misters to stay cool on those hot days, shaded pit area, an upstairs view looking down on all fields, etc. If you ever vacation in Las Vegas, you have to add this as one of your places to go during your visit in Sin City. :)

This is the nicest outdoor field I’ve ever been to, friendly staff and have real washrooms (THANK YOU). Love the fact they have a PSP and NPPL bunkers on each field, definitely a great place practice.

P.S. There’s a PING PONG table next to the arcade, this field wins.

Correction. Destiny X will only be playing D2. We will not have a D4 team. The girls that tried out will be part of Destiny Army, however. Details on Destiny Army will be released on this upcoming week.
