In the United States, World Cup comes to an end. World Cup is held annually in October outside of Orlando, Florida. Cup hosted more than four hundred of best teams from all 50 states and 35 countries. Thereby setting an absolute record for the competition which has been running for more than 10 years.
In addition to good weather and excellent organization of the event, we were also pleased to see:
1) Organizers went back to the standards of the field size of the 2010 season, which corresponds to the current European standards.
2) Revival of the 10man format, one of the oldest in the world of paintball formats.
Among the huge number of participants were two Ukrainian teams, Hulk Kiev and Freestyle Kiev. Hulk played in two formats. As usual in Race to 5, and new to the team, but not to the world of paintball format, 10 – Man.
The format of 10 man is distinguished by several features. First, there are no restrictions on the level – the player of any class from novice to Pro can be passed to rookie tournament. The field is much bigger than 5man. Most importantly, coaching is completely forbidden. All this makes the game much “slower”, but each player takes an independent decision and the teams with the problems in communication stand no chance of winning.
Team Hulk was able to adapt quickly enough to the game in this format and was able to win all six qualifying games, receiving the highest rate in the tournament – 96.5! For comparison, the next highest-ranking team scored only 82.16. After overcoming another preliminary round of the competition, which has become more difficult to win (Hulk is only one point ahead of his nearest rival, the U.S. team «PPS SFO») Hulk fell in the final group , consisting of four teams .
Pleased to note that in the final group, was one more representative of the post-Soviet space, the command Desperados from Russia. The remaining two teams “Tour deForce” and “Annihilators” represented the United States. In 10man players competed from such famous teams as Russian Legion, Ironman, CEP and others.
All participants in the final four were worthy of each other! Only the “Annihilators” with the help of a number of pro players could win all the matches. The other teams won and lost with varying degrees of success, very densely settled down in the final standings. Only a point separated second and third place! Fortunately, it was Hulk that took second place in the World Cup 2013! Desperados taking fourth.
Four sets of medals in the four years of participation in the World Cup. The first medal for Ukraine in the format of ” tens”. These are great achievements with which the team returned home from Orlando!
We would like to express our deep gratitude to the sponsors of the team; information – Autoradio and to DYE for the awesome equipment!
Also many thanks to the permanent leader and team captain, Iaroslav. Coach Alexander, and the permanent leader and inspirer of the pit team, Oksana. Thanks for all their hard work, as well as to all those who supported our team throughout the season!

For the first time, WAIAKILL – DyeTactical, entered into a UWL tournament in Ecuador. It was an awesome experience and will fully recommend it to any team.
Although it was an introductory version, most of the UWL rules were applied. There were a couple rules that were totally different to what we are used to in other woodsball/tactical tournaments like TacTen. No ramping and 10 bps were probably the ones that shook us most. First-strike rounds weren’t allowed as well.
The tournament was played at ‘Cerro del Muerto’ (translated Hill of the Dead) in Playas, Ecuador which is a desert environment. There was a lot of sand, dry bushes and a dry river that crossed the field and served as trenches. Our DyeCam gear was perfect for this location as we blended with the enviroment.
We started our first match against Team Dragones. We grabbed 2 out of 4 flags within the first three minutes. A couple minutes later we conquered the third flag, giving us a bit more confidence. At the last re-entering in the 14th minute we went all in and conquered the 4th flag at the other teams starting point. This gave us all the points available.
Our next game was played against Iguana Clan, which had a similar result to the first game. Then we had to face Rojo Tactical Team with was a little bit tougher but still won it.
Our Dye Dam’s, Dm13′s and Reflex’s performed flawlessly in this tough terrain. One of our teammates had the honor of playing with his DM14 which recently arrived with our Dye Dealer Luis Neira from World Cup a couole days before.
The final game we had to face Team Dragones which in the global scoring came up in 2nd place advanced to finals. WAIAKILL ended up first with a big difference in points from the second place, but the final match resets the points to zero.
The final game was a tough one, but the points won by our scout when he grabbed the first flag and never losing the second flag gave us the victory. We used Dye CG paint which gave us an advantage over other teams.
UWL format is very interesting and fun and we recommend it for any woodsball/tactical player that enjoys mission oriented tournaments.

Keep on balling!!
