Troy Nagel & Craig Marley Report from the 2013 U-Tac D-Day Scenario Event

South African Dye Tech, Troy Nagel, recently headed down to Cape Town for U-Tac’s annual D-Day Scenario event. The 2 day event attracts players from all over the country who come to battle it out on U-Tac’s impressive field. Troy had the Dye tech booth setup to fine tune all the Dye and Proto markers at the event and also to promote the incredible new Dye DAM marker!

Cape Town local and captain of team Dynamix, Craig Marley, was also on hand to back up Troy on the field and give players the chance to experience the DAM’s dominating performance.

Craig gave us his rundown of the event:

“Unfortunately the event was held on one of the stormiest days that Cape Town has ever seen, bringing rain, hail and freezing winds. Still the troops came out to battle with the Allies taking on the Axis, Allies started in the boats while the Axis waited behind bunkers for the doors to drop and the chaos to begin. The horn blew and it was all out WAR, wind, rain, hail and flying paint everywhere while we scrambled to find cover.

Troy and I were there to demo DYE’s new DAM, this was my first time playing with one and I was very impressed to say the least, what a great gun! It shot perfect the whole day using DYE CG paint and I loved the flexibility of being able to switch over to First Strike rounds on the fly to take those long range kills like a sniper, then flip back the switch and have the fire power to make the charge to the next bunker. I definitely felt like it gave me a huge edge on the field and most importantly I had a lot more fun!!

U-Tac is an incredible venue, one of the best scenario fields in the world and extremely well run, a big thanks to Allan and his crew for a great event. The Blades & Triggers staff were also really helpful and made sure that players had everything they needed throughout the event. Thanks to Switch MultiMedia for covering the event and taking some great pics.

Also a big thanks to Troy Nagel and DYE for the DAM and tactical gear, I can’t wait for the next scenario game!

It was an amazing event and I highly recommend that you plan to be there next year!”

Team Dynamix on a Winning Streak! SARPL Event #3 Recap

Monday, April 22nd, 2013

Dynamix are on a winning streak, taking 1st place once again at the recent SARPL Event 3. Craig Marley gave us a write up of the event and shared his thoughts on the performance of the new 2013 Dye product line and Dye CG paint:

SARPL Event 3 – Sunday, 7 April 2013

We had just recieved our new Dye gear and DM13′s before the event, straight out the box, they shot like a dream!

The event started on a very cold Sunday morning putting the Dye CG paint to the test but despite the cold the paint performed really well.

It was amazing because we have only recently gone into winter and at the previous event it had been extremely hot but the Dye CG

paint performed in both extreme temperatures!! This paint truly is incredible!

Dynamix dominated through out the event not losing a single match or point in the prelims. Our new player Daniel Hertog got a

chance to prove himself on the dorito side, he communicated well and got a lot of kills, this kid is a good asset to the team.

Dynamix dominated the event, only dropping one point all day to take first place. We also got the fastest game of 31 seconds due to

the all new Dye ultra light gear. The DM13 out the box ran great and CG paint continues to impress us.

Thank you’s to:

Dye for great gear and paint.

Blades and Triggers for all your support for the last 7 years and are proud to be affiliated as a Dye BNT Team.

Havaianas our new addition to our sponsorship for our stylish feet.

Switch Multimedia for the great photography.

And a big thanks to the SARPL for hosting a great event and to all the teams that travelled far and wide to make this a success!

Dye DAM Takes Bravo Company to 1st Place!

Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013

Team Bravo Company from South Africa recently won the second event of the Gauteng Bushball Series using their new DAM markers.

Len Nery from Bravo Company gave us a rundown of the event and filled us in on how the DAM’s performed:

“This was the second leg of the seven man 2013 Bushball Series and the first time the Dye Assault Matrix was used during a competition in this country.

Bravo Company Paintball arrived at the event as hot favourites after winning the previous event that was held at The Bush Paintball Field (http://bushpaintball.co.za/) and we certainly made an impression by arriving for the event with seven Dye Assault Matrix markers to point at opposing teams! Within the team all members began the day with one goal and that was to win the event without losing a single game and that’s exactly what transpired. Not only did Bravo Company convincingly win every game including 4 perfect scores (no loss of players), but at most only lost two players in a single game!

The pin point accuracy delivered by the DAM was a key factor in our success and whilst only ten First Strike rounds were fired by Bravo Company during the tournament it yielded one confirmed kill.

The accuracy when sighting down the rail is mind blowing and a refreshing change to any other marker we’ve used. A few of the Bravo Company members have removed some of the extra rails and reported that the Dye Assault Matrix felt very light and was easy to manoeuvre during game play and we are also very impressed with the ease of removing the bolt.

It is a brilliantly thought out marker that will allow Bravo Company Paintball to be a serious force to be reckoned with during 2013.”

Team Dynamix – Champions of SARPL Event #2

Tuesday, March 19th, 2013

Team Dynamix from South Africa recently won the SARPL event 2 in Port Elizabeth. Craig Marley gave us a rundown of the event:

“The weekend started with the alarm waking us up at 1am Saturday morning , we loaded up the cars and trailers, the road trip began. Driving a very long 12hrs we arrived in a sunny and very hot Port Elizabeth. We headed straight to the field to walk it. On arriving, the layout was a lot different to what we had trained on at our home field of Blades and Triggers in Joburg, leaving us to make up a lot of new break out plans. The field walk took us well into Saturday night so it was a long day but we felt prepared for our games.

Sunday started early with setting up tents at the field and getting all our Dye gear ready. We were a bit worried about the Dye CG Paint as it had travelled in a trailer for 12 hours in the baking sun, much to our surprise the Dye CG paint shot great throughout the whole tourney giving us no problems at all. We started bashing out games early and with our new game plans we were very strong only dropping 2 points in the pool stages.

Leading into the semi’s, we played a very strong Johannesburg team, Reapers. We took first point the way we had most of the day but they had picked up some flaws in our game plan and used it against us. After a long point they managed to shoot all of us out, taking the second point. We quickly got together and changed our plans and used completely different break outs which we had not tried. We came back using a different game putting us in the finals.

We met a team from Port Elizabeth in the finals. We started off strong but dropped the second point. We got our heads back into the game to fight back as it was a long drive back and no one wanted that drive with a second place finish. After grinding the last point we had shot out their players and hung the flag taking the WIN!

With the second RPL completed we drove 12hrs back to Johannesburg with us arriving home at 5:30am but all of us smiling and as happy. We could not have done it without the help from our sponsors DYE, Blades and Triggers, DYE CG paintballs and the Smuts family. Thanks for all the support.”
