Mayhem Big Game – The Pacific 3

On the weekend of the 31st August/ 1st September, I swapped my usual commute on the London Underground (the Tube) and made my way out of town to Romford, Essex to play the Mayhem Big Game – The Pacific 3. Having played the Mayhem Big Games for over 5 years in a row, I knew it was going to be a good weekend!

The Mayhem Big Game is awesome, since it offers something for everyone from: sneaky woods ball action in the lower wood, to the sup air and western field at the top, or even if you want to just check out all the cool vehicles they have all over the site, from tanks to helicopters, to the fighter jet in the staging area!

Its great to see a game that’s grown so much over just a few years, with a lot of the major retailers in the UK attending too. DYE was offering people the opportunity to test drive the DAM in a real scenario, and see how it really holds its own. With all the available DAMs in use the whole weekend, it was clear that a lot of people seemed to be really enjoying themselves testing the marker. The feedback was great – everyone was so impressed by the DAMs versatility, accuracy and complete performance.

On the Saturday, it was great to catch up with lots of familiar faces and take the opportunity to walk around the site. In the afternoon the mini scenario game took place called the Band of Brothers, and there was plenty of sneaky action taking place in the thick woodland. I managed to hold a really strong position against a few pushes from the Japanese thanks to the Dye Cam that I was wearing head to toe.

On the Sunday, we started in the lower woodland and successfully completed almost all of our objectives in the morning. However in the afternoon, despite pushing the opposition right back into one corner of the whole site, we were unable to raise the flag come the end of the game and our win in the morning session wasn’t enough to see us through as the overall winners.

Win or lose its irrelevant, the weather was amazing and everyone left with a smile on their face. Thanks to Mayhem Paintball for another fantastic weekend, for those of you that weren’t there – I’d highly recommend it for next year when it will be held on the 30th and 31st of August in 2014. Thanks to Dye Paintball for the fantastic gear. It performed flawlessly all weekend, catch me on the following social networks and stay tuned for footage from the weekend with my DAM;

Next stop on my ‘Ready for War Tour’ will be StaarGate in just 10 days time.

Be part of the adventure!

Hells Survivors Monster Game 2013

Ironman vs Ironman – The Tie Breaker

by Pete “Mr. U” Utschig of the Tactical Ironmen

Every July I head to Michigan to represent the Tactical Ironmen and General the Red squad at Hells Survivors Monster Game. My opposing General is one of my long time idols and friend the original Ironman, Team Captain Bob Long. In 2011 I took the victory and the Monster Cup, In 2012 Bob rallied his army to a win . This year I was not leaving Michigan without the cup.

I boosted up the red team with fellow Tactical Ironman Bryce Thompson and Hells Survivors most well known tactician Narf. Armed with superior tactics and as always superior firepower because of our DAMs we took a quick lead the first day. Sunday Bob again rallied his team but it was not enough to overcome our firepower. The Tactical Ironmen still remain undefeated in 2013 and added the Monster Game to the list of there victories.

Dave Massey and all the staff at Hells Survivors did another amazing job and there is no question why the Monster Game is one of the countries longest running games.

With Victories at Invasion of Normandy, D-Day, Living Legends and now the Monster Game the Tactical Ironmen armed with there DAMS seem unstoppable.  Make sure to check out the game highlights soon to come. See everyone at Wasaga Beach I see another big Victory in the future!

North v South – The Dye Tactical Experience

Epic stories from the epic big-game, North v South UK, as told by the newest member of the Dye Tactical family William “The Prince” Clifford -

“On the weekend of May 4th and 5th, I headed over to DTE Swynnerton Military base to play in the North v South UK Big Game Festival. I have played in scenarios all over the UK, but have never made it to the UK’s largest game, I was anxious as what to expect.

Turning up at the event on Saturday afternoon when the event was in full swing was great, I have to say I was really impressed with how it was set up. All the big UK vendors you could think of were there. If you had left anything at home, you could easily pick it up.

I was introduced to all the guys from Nexus and got to meet one of my favorite players of all time: Pete ‘Mr U’ Utschig of the tactical Ironmen who had flown in from the states to be General for the Southern Army. After setting up my gear we headed down to the chronograph area and introduced a number of players to the features that the DAM had to offer, of which everyone was amazed with.

Later that afternoon we headed out into one of the more popular mini games; ‘UK versus the world’. There were easily 400 players out there on the field and running with Tactical Nexus and Mr U was an experience of a lifetime. It was great to be around a group of guys that play together on a regular basis. The communication was really good amongst us all, and we managed to push the opposing team back quickly. After playing this mini game I knew that the Sunday was going to be amazing.

It was an honour to represent DYE at such a huge event. The customer service that they offer is phenomenal; the DYE booth looked great, with all the Tactical gear on display and the techs were helping people set up their equipment until gone 8 o’clock on Saturday evening when all the other vendors had packed away.

The DYECAM really does work well on the field; I’ve found that it enables you to fit into multiple environments. It’s not like some camo that will only work well in specific environments; it fits in as an overall camo so it’s effective whatever the terrain. Running with a team of guys, who were all wearing it head to toe, really gave us that extra stealth advantage out there on the field. We not only looked the part, but we also played the part.

The Sunday was great; we managed to successfully take all of our objectives from pushing the North back to securing and holding an objective. It was only due to some unfortunate timing that we were unable to secure the compound for the final mission, as that would have won the event for the South.

Playing with a highly successful tournament team and one of the world’s most renowned scenario players, combined with the most effective camo and the deadly DAM’s really was an amazing combination. I think my personal highlight of the weekend was bunkering 10+ guys behind a building that we were trying to capture along with Shaun and Neil from London Nexus (one of the players on the receiving end was Greg Hastings), and I was lucky enough to catch it all on my camera!

I had the most fun that I’ve ever had out there on the paintball field with almost 2000 players attending, I will definitely be attending North versus South next year.

I would just like to thank DYE for giving me the opportunity to represent them and a huge thanks to all the guys at Nexus and Pete for being really welcoming.

If you’ve enjoyed the video, please feel free to check out my Facebook Page and stay tuned for all my adventures with DYE around the UK this season!”
