Dynamix from South Africa have been an absolute freight train this year!

Friday, December 27th, 2013

Hot off their victory in Malaysia where they were crowned World Cup Asia champs, the team had a few weeks off before their final showdown at Supercup in Gariep Dam for the 2013 SARPL title. The team had won several SARPL events throughout the year but it all came down to this final event to see who took the series win. Dye sponsored athlete, Max Lundqvist was at the event for a clinic and also guested on the team. The team’s experience showed as they dominated their final games and took the series win!! Craig Marley from Dynamix was kind enough to give us his feedback from the event:

The event was held at the Gariep Dam Forever Resort. A very nice venue albeit a bit far out. By Friday evening we had a full team at the event and with our tents pitched, we looked forward to a good event.
Saturday day morning the team met up with the legendary Maximus Lundquist. Dynamix was fortunate to have him as a guest for the team and to share some of his vast experience with the guys.  Day 1 was not as smooth as we would’ve wanted but we ended 2nd overall and drew Apocalypse in Sundays Semi-final.

So after an early evening at the player’s party the team came into Sunday ready to shine. We amended our game plan and pulled out a 2:0 win on Apocalypse. This secured us a spot against team Reaper in the final who placed 1st in the prelim stage.
The final was the deciding game for supercup but also the entire series as both Dnx and Reaper came into super cup on equal points. As always the final was extremely close and at the end it came to a1:1 draw. This meant that decision went to game times. Despite a 1 minute penalty Dynamix still came out on top.

A huge thank you to all the event organisers and very importantly all our supporters. Bnt and Dye as sponsors,  we could not ask for better! Blades and triggers were out in full force to back us. Much gratitude to Maximus for all he taught us over the weekend. To Jeremy from Dye, always a pleasure having you there. Thanks Troy for the teching and support. Lastly congratulations to Dynamix South African champs for 2011, 2012 and 2013!! Team members: Craig Marley, Chris England, Vivian Riley, Dane Carfoot, Sparky Smuts, Thabo Raphiri, Yosh Naran, Daniel Hertzog

Aisawan takes 1st at TIPC in Bangkok!

Wednesday, December 4th, 2013

We, Aisawan Team, joined the TIPC tournament that took place at Tab Chang, Bangkok. This time we were quite less prepared due to the timing. With only 2 weeks training, we did not play that well in the first round, which we later had a team discussion to improve our strategy.

On the second day our game was getting better.

Unfortunately it was not good enough to bring us directly through the final round. So we had to work hard for another match to pass this round. But it was worth the effort! We won the game and with that, got 1st place!

It was a great tournament to compete in and we gained very valuable experience

At last, thank you to DYE for the great support with all of our professional equipment. We are always confident in the quality and safety throughout the match.

Team Mad Bunnies Event Report

My-NPL 2013 Event 4

“Mad Bunnies – The Team towards Success!”

After a success in event 3, the team entered the event with enough preparation and training. With our coach, training began 1 month before the event. The moral of the team was in top shape and we had a great atmosphere between teammates. A few game plans were formulated, combining all of the skill and training that we had learned from our coach throughout the year.

4th Leg in Melaka with total of 18 teams. For Mad Bunnies, we just focused on our game and played as planned. My-NPL new challenger Speed Kid from the Kingdom of Thailand came with an impressive background. Macdev Outlaws from Singapore, Yin Yang and Sakai Titans have been our rival in My-NPL from the 1st Leg till 4th Leg. Duckside 2 was also a new team in My-NPL for this Leg.

The team played 5 preliminary games and the results are as follows:

Saturday was a clean sheet match for Mad Bunnies. But Sunday was a different day. In the finals, we will meet up with team Budu Boys, a team we have yet to meet. We do some observation before our game and found that they won the last two games with score 1-0 and we made a conclusion that this team will try their best to gain the 1st point and hold the 2nd sets. Our coach’s best advice is to get the 1st point and make our opponent struggle to get their 2nd point. The team did their job and we manage to secure our 1st point with an excellent plan. Next we just need to get some G’s and made the right moves. In the middle of the game, Dorito side was having some difficulty to push up as there is no one in this side. Here comes the inserts from snake side who managed to stay alive to keep pressure on the Dorito side, finishing up the game with a tremendous victory.

This awesome week ends for team Mad Bunnies when we are crowned as 4th Leg Champion for Division 3 and Division 3 Overall Champion year 2013. Mad Bunnies is the only team in My-NPL to get the Double Champion title for year 2013.

We were lucky the DYE tech was on hand to keep our gear in tip-top and competitive condition. A special shout-out is due to Mr Weili Wu for such a great job that he did with the markers. In our final game we manage to try the DM 14 from Mr Weili Wu and the result speak for itself. Thanks to DYE for the endless support and we are looking forward to wearing C14 and shooting the superb DM 14 in year 2014. Let’s Do IT Again For Next Year!!! Special thanks for our lovely manager Dzul King for always supporting a good atmosphere and great moral in every player for every game.

We had a great event with fast greens and great venue. It was a finale not to be forgotten, with many sweet memory for the year 2013. Till we meet again in year 2014 with more challenge to come.

From all of us in Mad Bunnies.

Team Duckside dominates World Cup Asia!

WCA, 2013. What more can we say about this awesome meet up? A good time was had by all. It is especially important for us to remember this year with a different attitude; it is a triumphant year for team Duckside.

Last year was great but this year, we were absolutely overwhelmed with our success and achievements. We were given 3 top prizes in a row, the Overall Champion 2013, WCA Champion 2013 and the Best Performance Team. Looking back the time when we were amateur in paintball, training and learning from the bigger boys to who we are now. Rome was not build in one day and yes, our commitment and sacrifices paid off eventually.

Three days battle and in the end, we screamed, we cried, and we hugged with joy and gratification after we won our final game against team Virgin from Thailand. There were no amounts of words to describe how happy we were at that moment.  The adrenaline pumping excitement and the cheers from crowds will always be remembered and cherished deep in our hearts.

Our excitement and joy were heightened even more at the prize giving ceremony. Hearing Team Duckside being called to the stage and the crowds cheering and clapping their hands, we walked up the stage with honour and tried every moment not to trip on our steps. Holding on to all prizes we had, we were indeed feeling proud. Teammates took turns snapping photos and posting them on social network. Players greeted congratulations to each other and the feelings were indescribable.

Having said that, there are few individuals we would like to give thanks to. Without their support and guidance, Team Duckside would not be who we are now. 1st Thanks to our Main sponsor 89Arena paintball (the best indoor paintball field in Aisa) and DYE Paintball for their trust and support to us. The C13 series of gear has seriously given us a boost in and out of the field. DM13 has once again maintained accuracy and consistency throughout the tournament and gave us the advantage to dominate most of the games. Thanks KCHL paintball also for believing in us and to all the teams that came and help us, our precious Crews ,Marshalls.

In closing, we give thanks again to all sponsors and the organizer for this fun filling event. Surely WCA 2014 will be another great year for all.

The Best at What We Do

-Daniel Holliday #23

At the beginning of the year we felt all eyes were on us to see if we would still be top contenders after losing all our non-Florida players. So It would come to no surprise that at the start of this year we had a lot to prove to our sponsors, fans and most of all ourselves. The entire team felt confident returning to our core roster with Bryan Smith coming back and our longtime friend Raney Stanczak.

In 2013 we wanted to 1, cut down the roster to a size where the best players play the most. 2, prove to everyone in the paintball media that even though the majority of Damage players are not considered “loud, self-hyping players”, we still know how to win. Lastly, we wanted develop our existing players skill level so they could play anywhere on the field. I think it’s fair to say we’ve accomplished this.

After three 2nd place finishes in a row and 1 horrific 6th place, we all knew that the West Coast Open was a deciding factor of whether Tampa Bay Damage would still be a top tier team. Everything was going well for us the first day of prelims and we won both of our games with ease. All we needed to do now was beat one of the new challenger’s team to seal our spot on Sunday and that would free us up to have a practice finals session against Edmonton Impact.

Despite the paint shooting awesome out of our DM13’s, we just played bad the entire day. I honestly thought before our last prelim game against Impact that we would be out if we didn’t beat them. Luckily this was not the case, I was told in the pits before the preliminary Impact game that it did not matter won or lost. So it did indeed look like we would get our free finals practice against impact as the game had no bearing on whether or not we moved onto to the semi-finals.

Saturday night the team’s morale and confidence had never been higher despite Bryan Smith not being able to play as he became ill and had to be taken to the E.R. the night before our finals day. I really thought he was going to be a big contributing factor for us at the West Coast Open. Nevertheless we spent our entire lives proving people wrong and we were ready to put anyone into the dirt if they got in our way of winning.

Finally we admit to the truth, we are the best at what we do.

Oddly, winning the West Coast Open brought more relief than excitement; it reinvigorated our passion for the sport and completely dissolved that burned out feeling of constant travel and time away from our families. I am happy and excited that we won but unfortunately this feeling only lasts for about 6 weeks until we prove ourselves one more time at World Cup.

When you win World Cup, the feeling doesn’t just last a few weeks, it lasts a lifetime.

On behalf of the Damage organization I’d like to say thank you to all the great people and companies that have stuck by us throughout the years and made this whole dream a reality -

Protex, Social Paintball, Raza, Virtue, and of course Dye Precision.
