Dye DAM dominates ‘Soldiers of Fortune’

Tuesday, May 6th, 2014

WOLF and AZTEK stopped by Soldiers Of Fortune last weekend for “Day Of Redemption” (a Fundraising event where proceeds go to Sick Kids Hospital & Brain Tumor Research).  One of the local players (member of the Corpse Paintball Team) had life saving brain surgery at Sick Kids Hospital, twice, 4 years ago. Today he is a normal, happy and avid paintball player.  The event had a great turn out and raised $1700 at the field and $6500 online.  Several players and paintball companies such as Dye Paintball donated to this event.  The Dye DAM dominated the field across its smalls towns and wooded area and led General Scarpz and the blue team to a victory. But at the end of the day, the event was a perfect example of camaraderie amongst both teams.

Hard2Overcome Wins the Able Cup Charity Event in Melbourne, Australia.

Wednesday, November 13th, 2013

I’m Nathan McDonnell and I play for Sydney Explicit in the Australian Super 7s Series.

Last month I was invited to go to Melbourne and play for Hard2Overcome (another Dye sponsored team) in the Able Cup – a race to four event hosted by the
Adrenalin Paintball Club.  The Able Cup was different from any event I have played in before, as its aim was to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation.  It was very rewarding.

After walking the field Saturday morning and getting our game plan sorted, we were ready to play some paintball.  At the end of Saturday’s games we had played 8 rounds and were sitting in second position.  An okay place to be, but we still had a lot of work to do as there were still 3 rounds to play on Sunday followed by the finals.

Sunday morning saw us face off against the top of the ladder team South East Cartel.  After some back and forth points the game ran out of time and ended in a draw.  We won the next round, but we did lose out on the last round of the day.  At least it was to our sister team H2O Blue.  Despite the loss, it was really good for us as it showed us we had a few flaws in our game plan which we sat down an quickly changed.

At the end of prelims the top four teams were:
South East Cartel
Hard2Overcome
H2O BLUE
HUSTLE

The first final of the afternoon was for 3rd an 4th between H2O Blue and Hustle. It was a close match with both teams swapping the lead, but with time running out it ended in a draw so they were sent into a sudden death 1 on 1.  Both players had the crowd on edge with a few close calls and great moves and in the end H2O Blue came away with the win and 3rd place.

The Final for 1st and 2nd place was between South East Cartel and my team H2O.  I would like to point out that the two times our teams had previously faced off against each other over the weekend, both games ended in a draw.

The game started off strong with the two teams losing players off the break.  We did however get the upper hand and took the 1st point.

The 2nd point started off like the 1st with both teams battling for position and after a few gun battles we came away with a 2-0 lead.

The 3rd point didn’t go the way we wanted with South East Cartel tearing through the field and bringing the game to 2-1.

The next point though, was a real battle.  Both teams dug in and fought for every inch of ground.  After a few key moves we got the kills and came away with the point making it 3-1 to us. This gave us a massive confidence boost going into the next point.

The last point started off with  us shooting 3 of the Cartel guys off the break and then closing it out quickly to come away with a 4-1 WIN.

Needless to say, we were very pleased!

We would like to thank the guys from South East Cartel for a tough final.  You guys made us work for every point. We would also like to thank Paintball Addiction for organising and sponsoring the event.  And finally, we would like to thank DYE PRECISION and Devon Stutz for sponsoring our team an giving us an LA Ironmen jersey to raffle off. We ended up raising $1542.10 for the Make a Wish Foundation.

Playing with the H2O guys was great fun and they have an awesome and well bonded team.  I am really looking forward to the 2014 season as I have been asked to join the H2O roster and have accepted.  With H2O I will be playing the PAVS and Race events in Melbourne (but this doesn’t mean I’ve left behind the Sydney events – I will continue with those also).

Thanks again to Dye Precision for all the support over the years and future.

HULK Paintball Team Gearing up for 2013 with new HULK Arena and more Charity

Thursday, January 3rd, 2013

With so many dedicated players in the HULK Paintball organization, these Ukranians realized the ability they have to not only set themselves up for a great 2013 season of paintball, but also to give back to their community.

HULK boasts over 40 players that practice and compete both in Ukraine and around the world.  Now, in 2013, captain Yaroslav Yanushevich is proud to announce that “HULK Arena” is officially open.  That’s right, these guys have their own private training facility, complete with brand new turf, a Ukraine-approved heating system, and, sure, why not… a giant mural of the team in the backdrop.

Not only are Team HULK upgrading their practice facility, but they are also upgrading their organization as a whole.  HULK has delegated members of the team to hold important positions in the hierarchy that is HULK Paintball.  The hard-working members received their new roles with honor this past December.

Despite all of the upgrades to the HULK Paintball Team, the always selfless Ukrainian ballers from Eastern Europe made it a point to give back on New Years Day, 2013.

“Today, our team continues to supporting children that need our help” mentioned the team.  ”On New Years we visited a place where we were awaited and welcome, ‘City of Happy Children’ children’s center.

The kids were happy to get their presents, but besides tradiditional Christmas Toys, HULK presented the children with a variety of sports equipment.  Now the kids have enough badminton rackets, balls, ropes, and other sporting equipment to last them a long time.”

Hypersports of Sweden Makes HUGE Donation to Ronald McDonald House

Thursday, December 27th, 2012

The paintball players of Sweden have made a BIG difference this year, not just in the Scandinavian paintball scene, but in the lives of millions of children around the world.  This year, Hypersports donated over 11,500 Euro to help fund the construction of a fifth Ronald McDonald house in their home country.

“During 2012, we decided to do something a little extra special, something we think is really important.  We wanted to make a difference, for those who have it really hard” mentioned the Hypersports Team.  ”You, our customers who bought gear from us in 2012, have been involved in making something beautiful, something we are proud of now when this paintball season is coming to an end.”

What is a Ronald McDonald House?

Sometimes when a child gets sick, they have to go to a hospital far from their families.  Parents want to be with their child every second during such a difficult time, but when they are far away it makes it extremely difficult.  That’s where the Ronald McDonald houses come in.  They provide a place near big hospitals for parents to be with their unfortunate children.

The Hypersports team consistently runs promotions and sales where a percentage of the sale are used to raise money for this great cause every year.  ”Since this cause is close to our heart, we will continue to collect money and make a big donation in 2013.  We hope to be able to donate even more in 2013 so that more of these houses can be built!”

Dye Teams & Stores Helping Children Across the Globe

Wednesday, December 26th, 2012

Today we are proud to report on two extremely thoughtful stories sent to us from one of our newest Dye Sponsored teams in Ukraine, HULK, and one of our oldest South American retail outlets, Fast Ducks of Colombia.

First let’s travel to Ukraine, where HULK donated more than just a fashion show to a room full of underprivileged children in their region.  A big screen TV for the children to all share, gift bags for everyone, and the best present of all… an invitation to play paintball with HULK in the spring!  You’d think the TV was what would get the children excited, but according to HULK’s captain Yaroslav Yanushevich, the announcement of their upcoming paintball adventure got the kids all clapping their hands and jumping with excitement.

A few gifts and a paintball invitation was all it took to make this years holiday season extra special for a lucky few.  HULK put on this event out of their own pockets, but to them it was no sweat… they were happy to do it out of the kindness of their hearts.

Now we travel way South to Bogota, Colombia, where Fast Ducks Paintball put on a Toy Drive for some underprivileged kids in their area.  Dye’s own Billy Wing personally made the trip down to Colombia to hand deliver some toys for this great cause, and from all of the pictures they’ve sent us we can tell it was a major success!

Dye is extremely proud when individuals, teams, stores or anyone in the paintball industry takes it upon themselves to give hope to those who are less fortunate and to make their holidays a little brighter.
