Dye Tactical’s Pete “Mr. U” Utschig Reports from North vs South Big Game in the UK

Tuesday, May 7th, 2013

We sent Pete “Mr. U” Utschig across the pond to attend the largest scenario paintball game in the UK – North v South.  He came back with a bag full of empty clips, a massive kill count, and a new respect for the British paintball scene.

By Pete “Mr. U” Utschig

“3 days, 2000 players and 7,000 miles later I’m home from another epic adventure. Last weekend I set out to meet with the DYE Europe crew and Team Tactical Nexus. I was invited to be one of the South’s Team Generals in Englands largest scenario game, “North vs South”.

The game centers around Sundays major event which pits players from Northern England against players from the South. The three day event is advertised as a paintball festival, and that’s exactly what it is. Players from all over Europe come to camp, shop, party, and of course play paintball. To start things off, we played a little CQB.  Check out this video of me changing my DAM to Recon Mode:

Friday players and vendors set up and were treated to 20 vrs 20 mini games. DYE Europe, myself and a couple of the Nexus players set up a DAM demo allowing all the mini game players to take the DAM out for a run. The feedback was the same as always… “This gun is insane” or “Best gun I have ever shot”.

Saturday the game format broke the competitors in two teams.  One team was made up of only English players,  the other was the rest if the world. I got to play alongside long time friend and Northern team guest general, Greg Hastings.  Lucky for Greg, he was on my team Saturday because on Sunday he felt the sting of my DAM. Unfortunately for Greg, it was all caught on my Replay camera that he gave me.

Sunday was the big battle, along side Team Tactical Nexus we brought the pain train, completing all but one of our missions. As the day fell to a close, we ultimately were short on points and the Northern Team led by Jed Green and Greg Hastings were victorious. It was another welt filled weekend but the games were intense, the people were amazing and the camera footage is epic. I wouldn’t have had it any other way!!! Bloody Knuckles, Ironmen Style.

See you guys at Living Legends with the rest of the Ironmen!!!”

2013 PSP Dallas Open – Prelims Recap & Photo Gallery

Sunday, March 17th, 2013

The dust has cleared and four DYE teams have survived round one of the 2013 PSP Dallas Open.  Making the Sunday Club at this event are:

*PRO – Los Angels Ironmen

*PRO – Tampa Bay Damage

*D1 – Royalty (San Jose)

*D1 – Wolfpack (New Jersey)

A big congrats goes out to CEP who made a statement at this event finishing the prelims 2-2, their best pro finish to date!  TonTon also proved themselves worthy of the Champions division, just barely missing a 3-1 finish with an overtime match against Infamous.  They would finish 2-2 and secure a top 10 spot.
