New DYE Team Makes the Podium at Perth Paintball Round 4

photos by: www.wasppaintball.com.au

Wrecking Crew is a recent addition to DYE’s sponsored teams. We’re based at WASP Paintball in Perth, Western Australia.

A few weeks ago we played the 4th round of the Perth Paintball League. 2013 has been a strong year for us so far. We’ve been building on our cohesiveness as a team with our main attackers putting in work and our role players staying solid, allowing us to consistently place in the top 4 in the “Pro” division at these events.

A highlight game for us was close one against STK in which we prevailed. We lost our snake player on the break, but were able to fight back 4 bodies onto 5 to come away with the win.

The PPL is a round-robbin event with no finals. It relies a lot on just staying focused, playing it safe and minimizing mistakes. As the end of the tournament approached, Menace, STK and us were all tied, having lost 2 games each. All we had to do was win our final game of the day and the scoring system would grant us a hard-earned second place.

Our final game was against WASP, a group of experienced players, but they don’t practice a lot so you don’t know what you’re going to get when you play them. It was a long and close game almost going to time, but unfortunately they were able to pick us off and beat us, leaving Wrecking Crew with 3rd place.
We’ve like to thank DYE Paintball for our gear which was flawless at the event, and our home field WASP Paintball for their support.

My-NPL 2013 – 3rd Leg

photos by: KINGANGIMAGES

What can we say other than it was an awesome weekend! We are so overjoyed, we did our job well securing Gold in this 3rd leg of MY-NPL 2013. With this win we are ranked 1st at the Overall title in MY-NPL 2013. Champion for the second time is something that we can never do without the support and help from side line assisting us as crew. We hold extreme gratitude to all of them.

We fought hard indeed and around of applause to all opponents for the great games played as it were truly a good fight.

Once again, we humbly dedicate this win to all that has been standing behind us and supporting us, especially 89 Arena and DYE PAINTBALL. Without your support, we wouldn’t have been able to get this far. We, Team DuckSide, stay humble as we can and hope we have not offended anyone in our game. Even if we do, please forgive us as we do not have any ill intention as we may be under pressure and over focus to achieve a win. In the game, we may be opponent, but out of the field, any paintballers are buddies with the same passion and yes, we surely do like the Dye CG paint :)

Until then… keep paintballing and play safe, barrel socks on for now … cheers !! ~ Team Duckside

Team DRX Gets 2nd at MY-NPL Event #3

Wednesday, July 17th, 2013

Team DRX came in 2nd last weekend in the 3rd event of 2013 MY-NPL. Dropping only 2 points in the preliminary, the team emerged on top of the table to take on Team Rockstar in the semi-final.

Surviving an early scare with 2 points down in a race to 4 format, Team DRX hung on with everything they have to come out winning the game with a 3-2 scoreline. Onward to the finals….

As expected, Team DRX face off against Team Recda Waxers in a much anticipated final game of Division 1…In the end, as the dust settles, we lost to a better organised team but that’s all part and parcel of the game we love.

A big thank you to Dye and our sponsors to make this win possible and we look forward to the finale in Malacca (Oct 19-20)!

Windsor Lockdown – 1st Place in Canada’s CXBL League

CXBL Event #1 – 2K13 Border Battle June 29-30, 2013

photos by: Sheldon Carless

The CXBL is keeping traditional X-Ball alive up in Canada, and the competition is no joke, with teams like Heat and VICIOUS all competing at 15bps.

Our Dye Sponsored team, Windsor Lockdown, put together one hell of a roster for this event, including Marcello Margott, Jason Edwards, Alex Goldman, Chad Busier, and Keith Brown, on top of a group of Canadian All-Stars who lived up to their potential at event #1, The Border Battle.

Here’s what Trevor van Dorsser of Lockdown had to say:

“Our Lockdown Guys without (Marcello, Mouse, Jason Edwards and Keith Brown) beat Heat at event #1.  The Pro’s flights were all screwed up and did not arrive until after the Match.  Lockdown surprised everyone by winning against Heat with only 6 guys!

Then the pro’s arrived, and we went 3-0 for the weekend and are in first place in the league. The DYE CG paint was the talk of the event and absolutely helped us take it to some of the best players in the world at the CXBL.”
