After 3 awesome days of catching up with over 160 paintballers from around the country and scaling the brutal terrain of Widow Woods many times over, my bed has never felt so good.
What an epic weekend it was! Thanks to Bjorn and Ollie from the Auckland Paintball Club for such awesome games. Great effort and many hours of hard work and planning well spent. The atmosphere was incredible and the company was amazing. It was so great to see so many different people from Kaitaia to Queenstown come together and get along so well due to one common interest, Paintball!!!! Its great having so many like-minded people all there to enjoy a great event and have a great time doing what we all love!!!
Paintball is what makes many of us tick. Large events like these really show the popularity of the sport in New Zealand. This is what will really help it grow here and put us on an international level. The event has grown rapidly since 2012 and can only get bigger. The support from so many people was top notch this year meaning much better facilities were available with even bigger plans for next year.
We painted the forest pink and green!
Day 1 was a team-based day; your 3 teams comprised of 3 squads all battling out to be the winner of the day. The day itself was broke into 2×2 hour blocks. It was fought over some tough terrain but was fierce and adrenalin filled battles all the way. Many teams went toe to toe over objectives and the two most fought after objectives were the ‘BARREL’ and attacking Team MSW. The ‘BARREL’ objective started at the base of hill in amongst the middle of the speed ball field and had to be taken to Widows Peak which took the yellow team an hour to claim off the red team and fight them and the MSW team to get to the very top. The attack on Team MSW was also a tough fight where each team had to climb through trip wire, dense bush and plenty of fire from this experience team who had a base below Widows peak and plenty of paint and fire power to keep team away, not only that Team MSW would hide in the bushes and wait for unsuspecting team to walk past and be surprised with some well-earned knife kills!!! It was a great spin on last years game day and having over 140 people scattered throughout the field was awesome to see.
Day 2 comprised of two large teams Green Team and Blue Team battling out with Ollie’s gadgets. Starting at opposite ends both teams ran out as the horn went to gain field advantage! On top of that there was a ton of team based missions to be completed on the day. Such as lining up the laser system to set off the air strike , take out the ‘tank’ with a bazooka , escorting the tank through the middle of the field , holding down electronic boxes to gain points also keeping a close eye on enemy air drops of players behind you and lastly a 5 man speedball game while we are in the field fighting it out. This game day went on for 5 hours straight and was good hard fight with both teams doing their best to come out on top.
Overall it was a great success and had many satisfied and hungry players for the next Armageddon. Once again Armageddon as an event has grown from strength to strength and continues to attract players from all over NZ, and will continue to create new game days, create new props for games and find new ways to create a greater experience for players every year.
We have to again thank Dye for their prizes they provided once again, it made the players day receiving them, and for your guy’s ongoing support of paintball in NZ. Your support helps draws players attention that companies like yourself would be happy to jump on board and support local events even as far away as New Zealand. The last thank you goes to my man Devon, for all your help man its awesome.

Born in 1994 with one product and an athlete’s vision, DYE Precision, founded by Dave Youngblood, has grown and evolved over the past 20 years into an industry leading company with production, design, development, manufacturing and distribution facilities in 8 countries, on 3 continents.
Though in the beginning it was one man and a mission, DYE quickly evolved into an industry leader because it created products, developed by professionals, that people wanted to use. The best teams in paintball were soon wearing and shooting DYE products because they wanted to win, and they needed the best to make their paintball dreams a reality. The championships came and the product line expanded, but the principles behind the product have, and always will, remain the same.
Through trial and error, and tremendous amounts of work behind the scenes, DYE enlisted mechanical and materials engineers, with guidance from graphic designers, and massive input from casual players to the hardest of the hardcore professionals, to polish our designs over the years, creating the product line we now stand behind. Our global headquarters in San Diego connects all these different creative assets with cutting edge technologies creating a refined style, resulting in superior product for players of all levels.
Excellence is in our DNA, we strove at every turn during our 20-year history to inject Dye’s products with a style and functionality that makes our products game changers; we want them to be both workhorses and works of art. From the very beginning, the idea behind DYE was to make extraordinary products through extraordinary effort, in order to create usable tools that transcend appearances, because ultimately it’s about what works in the real world. Our products are created to magnify the on-field experience, to make pure and potent paintball experiences possible.
Dye has brought its creative might to bear to solve many problems facing players during its evolution so our customers can have the best experience possible out on the field. We’re proud our full line of products has been used by every type of paintball player all over the world, from first day recreational walk-ons, tactical fanatics, to dominant World Champions.
Today, the Matrix line of Markers is the pinnacle of performance and the XX Anniversary Dm14 is resetting that standard.
The longest running franchise in pro paintball, the L.A. Ironmen, sets their own high standards on the field and depends on the highest level equipment to take their game to the next level. The Ironmen XX DM14 fulfills that need. “The Ironmen DM14 is the Ferrari of paintball guns. I couldn’t ask for a better shooting, better looking, or easier to maintain paintball gun. It has everything we need to bring home another championship title.” ~Marcello Margott

We, AISAWAN Team, joined PALS THAILAND tournament 2014. We are expecting a high achievement since we got only 2nd place and 4th place in the last two times before. Those experiences pushed us to work harder, spent more time practicing and planning strategy.
Also we got 4 championships from another tournament previously, therefore it quite encouraged our teammates to do the best for PALS tournament this year.
First round, did not go well, but it wasn’t too late. We adjusted our strategy and made improvements. It was rewarded in the next round, on and on, until finally we made it. Championship was our achievement as expected for all of our hard work!
This made our 5th championship of this year. We are looking forward and won’t stop for another chance to complete for Aisawan’s legend and glory!
Thank you to ‘Dye’, for our great equipment support all along.

This past weekend I headed to the Fight for Asylum 3 game at the World Famous PRZ Field in Ontario Canada. This massive facility is an abandoned hospital with several buildings and outdoor battle area, and challenges even the most experienced players! This annual even brought 700 of the most intense paint ballers from all over North America and did not disappoint! The Generals were Don Walsh of Team ODST and Josh “Orange” Saumure of Citrus Connection, both experienced leaders sent their fighters into some of the most fun they’ll ever have! I had to crawl through windows, fight it out in stair wells, and clear room by room to find cell phones and flash drives to accomplish missions, its was such a blast I felt sorry for those who could not make it, The DYE Booth was a place to meet and greet players, and along with DYE Player Patrick AZTEK Boulanger, we had a great day of Action. The game takes place over 2 days including a night game. Come back to http://www.dyetactical.com for updates on future games, and join me next time for the Most Intense Close Quarters Battle you can endure! Visit PRZ PAINTBALL for field information, and go to thewolfsden on YouTube for the Action video soon!
