7th September 2013 – The 5th and final round of the Paintball Association of Victoria’s (PAVS) tournament paintball series was held at Adrenalin Paintball Club. Dye sponsored team Hard2Overcome went into the final round looking to continue their winning run by taking out the last round of PAVS on their home field.

A mild overcast day was on the cards with the chance of afternoon showers and for once the forecast was spot on. From the first game the team found themselves under aggressive attack from teams looking to stop their winning run, but by the time the break for lunch came the team had 5 straight wins. The afternoon was mixed with wins and then some games being dropped when the rain eventually came later in the day.

But in the end it was enough and Hard2Overcome narrowly came away with another 1st place with 7 wins & 3 losses. The result that day had topped off a great season said team captain Craig McIver, as we had 3 new players come onto the team at the start of the year and we really gelled fast. They are great guys and we all get along, and I feel even though we are still getting use to each other’s unique playing styles we are really enjoying our paintball as a team. As a bonus the second H2O team H2O Blue came second in Division 2 which gave them enough points to take the series win in their Division.

Now with the PAVS Division 1 Championship to their name Hard2Overcome will turn its sights to the Able Cup 5 Man Race Event in October. We need to once again give a huge shout out to Dye paintball and Devon Stutz for all of our awesome gear that never lets us down on the field.

PAVS Round 4 in Victoria, Australia

August 28th, 2013

by Craig McIver – Team Captain

Dye Sponsored team Hard2Overcome hit the road at 4.30am to head up to Cold Stream just outside of Healesville for round 4 of PAVS. The day started mixed with a strong win followed by disappointing losses. Picking up a couple of more wins heading into the lunch break the team went back to walking the field to look for more options.

First game back seen us take a fast point against Sydney S.W.A.T. followed by another win before dropping another game.  The final 2 games of the day seen a win and loss with the last being at the hands of Sydney S.W.A.T. in a very long game that seen some great gun battles and a lot of paint exchanged.

In the end the team finished with 5 wins and 5 losses, and although it was not a great day for the team we still managed to come away with 3rd.

Team Coach & Vice Captain Mark Renden said we will learn from mistakes that were made and prepare for the final round on 7th September. We once again want to thank our sponsors Dye and Devon Stutz for the great gear that never lets us down, and for producing the most consistent high grade tournament paint on the market “Dye CG paint rocks”.

Catch you all at Round 5, September 7th in Newborough for a huge day of paintball!

Hard2Overcome Wins 3rd Round of PAVS and Makes Local News!

Tuesday, June 25th, 2013

Hard2Overcome continued their winning run by taking out Round 3 of PAVS on their home field at Adrenalin Paintball Club.

Although rain was forecast for most of the day it stayed away to allow perfect conditions for paintball. The team finished the day with 9 wins and 1 loss which further stretched its lead at the top of the table with just 2 rounds remaining. It was a day full of mixed feelings with team mate Mark Renden standing on the sidelines after having surgery on his ACL two days prior.

Team captain Craig McIver said that from the first game we wanted to perform well and do Mark proud, and during his 12 month recovery he will be coaching the team. Overall the day went well even with team numbers down and we are looking forward to the next round. Thanks once again to Dye and Devon Stutz for the awesome gear. As a bonus we had the local news crew come out and get some footage which has been posted on YouTube!

Hard2Overcome (H2O) Wins PAVS Series Event #1

Thursday, March 7th, 2013

24th February – Saw Round 1 of the Paintball Association Of Victoria’s (PAVS) tournament paintball series kick off at Snipers Den Moorabbin on a very hot and humid day with temperatures reaching 36c / 97f

This State wide two division event was sporting a shiny new Dye PSP bunker set supplied by Paintball Addiction, the local Dye agent and major sponsor of the event.

The start of the new season of PAVS also saw Dye Paintball sponsoring the local team Hard2Overcome (H2O) in Division 1, who took to the field dressed head to toe in Dye’s 2013 playing including DM13’s and shooting Dye’s CG Paintballs.

The day didn’t start well for Hard2Overcome when they dropped their first game, but the team decided to stick with the game plan and if needed tweak it slightly as the day went on. By the time the lunch break came they were sitting on 4 wins 1 loss and were looking forward to resuming after the break.

Teams from both divisions were playing extremely fast paintball in ridiculous heat and Refs Inc were doing an outstanding job making sure the games ran smoothly while being fed large amounts of water to combat the heat of the day.

The afternoon session had Hard2Overcome pick up where they left off with solid wins which continued into the final round and as it would happen, the final game of the day. The team full of confidence went up against local team Havoc who are known for long hard gun battles, in the end Hard2Overcome got on top and came away with another win.

The win capped off a great event for the team and saw them take 1st Place with 9 Wins 1 Loss ahead of the nearest team on 6 Wins.

Captain of Hard2Overcome Craig McIver said he was “proud of his team, which has seen three new players come onboard and the team at the end of the day was really gelling together. Our DM’s were shooting so smooth all day and the Dye CG paintballs were hitting their targets with pin point accuracy and is the best paint we have ever used. We need to thank Dye Asia and Devon Stutz for showing faith in us and supporting the team, and we are excited to be taking the field every round this year using Dye.”
