Shoot. Kill. Win.

Thursday, April 10th, 2014

I have been counting the days down until the first day of paintball season. It might sound crazy but it gets my heart racing just thinking about 2000 players getting ready to do battle. Last season the  Ironmen unleashed the DAM on the world of tactical paintball. Backed by the insane firepower and accuracy of the DAM along with the addition of 2 new Tactical Ironmen, the motivational  and strategical specialist The Wolf and South Africa’s heavy weapons artist Bryce Thompson, the Tactical Ironmen were unstoppable. We went undefeated  leading our sides to victory at every major tactical event including Living Legends , Skirmish ION, Michigan Monster Game, Tippman World Challenge, Decay of Nations and Wasaga Beach.
This year the Squad looks equally as strong and we are looking to stay undefeated. This season we have been armed with some great new equipment from DYE, including new high definiton lenses that make help seeing though the darkest of forests a breeze.
Our 2014 season opened at OTP (On Target Paintball) in New Jersey. I picked Bryce up in NYC and we were off to OTP. The field was a tactical players paradise. There were three man made forts that were heavily defended by bunkers and equal amounts of woods. On hand were 500 players, mostly groups of tactical teams. I enjoy these games because the quality of play is usually really high. Tactical teams move and communicate together, they fight like a force, and unless you bring your A game they are going to eat you up, the teams at OTP were no exception. The battles all day were intense and  judging  was exceptional with the local PSP Divisional teams providing highly motivated reffing not affraid to get in there and pull players out despite the amount of paint in the air. The staff at On Target Paintball was top notch the air stations were up and filling to 4500 all day and the game ran great. When the smoke had cleared and stories were told I headed back to the city with a big smile on my face and a bunch of welts and bruises of course.
This season make sure you “#FollowTheShield” not only on the DYE site and instagram but also on the field. We are looking to recruit new Tactical Ironmen and if you join us in some epic battles you might just walk away with a Ironman Shield on your shoulder.

Riding to another Big Win in Wasaga

The Tactical Ironmen are 7-0 on the season.  The only bad thing about being undefeated is that at each event the pressure keeps building, it easy to get to the top but staying there is the hard part, actually not that hard when your armed with a DAM.

This weekend I joined fellow Tactical Ironman and motivational phenom The Wolf. Our mission was to lead the Human Team “the blue squad ” to victory over the Alien Invasion at Canada’s premier scenario game held at Wasaga Beach Paintball. Close to 2,000 players showed up for the one day battle.

The Wolf and I had our hands full with the deck staked against us. The alien team was ready to rumble with the Canadian powerhouse team the Norther Gunman leading the charge. Wasaga Beach is a amazing event with the staff and refs doing a superb job keeping the fields pristine and the play fair.

Points were changing hands all day with the Aliens holding a lead most of the day, but we all know that the Ironmen are not going out like that. At one point early in the day I found myself in a very precarious situation, like I usually do. I had gotten way too far up the field leading a charge and was alone against about 70 angry Canadians. As my bunker was getting pounded about as hard as my heart was beating I heard a loud thump, guessing it was the first guy coming to bunker me I spun quick only to see another DYE Camo clad blue warrior joining me in my bunker. Not only was I surprised someone else had the balls to enter the battle with unthinkable odds but I was even more surprised to learn my teammate was only 12 years old. Together with our DAM firepower we started to destroy the enemy force.

This seemed to be the theme for the day, Thomas aka the Shadow followed me through every charge, crawl, and firefight. We gave it out and without a question we got it back too. When the smoke settled and the points were tallied the Ironmen and Humans reined supreme!

The Wasaga Beach crew did a amazing job as young and old stayed for the awards ceremonies. DYE graciously donated a ton of prizes, Wolf awarded the oldest combatant at 65 a brand new pair of i4s. But the real winner of the day was Thomas the Shadow who earned his Ironmen patch in front of the cheering crowd. The Shadow is now part of the Tactical Ironmen.

I wanted to thank everyone at Wasaga Beach paintball especially Christine and Larry for putting together a great event. I can’t wait for next year!

Make sure you check out all the video footage from this amazing event. 7-0 and still undefeated I think the numbers speak for themselves if your not on the DYE Tactical side, you’re probably on the losing side. World DAMination!

Hells Survivors Monster Game 2013

Ironman vs Ironman – The Tie Breaker

by Pete “Mr. U” Utschig of the Tactical Ironmen

Every July I head to Michigan to represent the Tactical Ironmen and General the Red squad at Hells Survivors Monster Game. My opposing General is one of my long time idols and friend the original Ironman, Team Captain Bob Long. In 2011 I took the victory and the Monster Cup, In 2012 Bob rallied his army to a win . This year I was not leaving Michigan without the cup.

I boosted up the red team with fellow Tactical Ironman Bryce Thompson and Hells Survivors most well known tactician Narf. Armed with superior tactics and as always superior firepower because of our DAMs we took a quick lead the first day. Sunday Bob again rallied his team but it was not enough to overcome our firepower. The Tactical Ironmen still remain undefeated in 2013 and added the Monster Game to the list of there victories.

Dave Massey and all the staff at Hells Survivors did another amazing job and there is no question why the Monster Game is one of the countries longest running games.

With Victories at Invasion of Normandy, D-Day, Living Legends and now the Monster Game the Tactical Ironmen armed with there DAMS seem unstoppable.  Make sure to check out the game highlights soon to come. See everyone at Wasaga Beach I see another big Victory in the future!

**Update** – Video from the event is live!

What an event!  The 2013 Invasion of Normandy Scenario Game at Skirmish USA in Albrightsville, PA was a major success on all fronts.  Over 4,000 players gathered from all over the USA to reenact one the most historic battles in US History, paintball markers in hand.

Dye Tactical brought a lot of firepower to this event, including our full Dye Tactical Truck Booth complete with the full line of Dye and Dye Tactical paintball products, plenty of DAM’s, Reflexes, and DM13′s to demo out to anyone with an ID & Credit Card, and of course the Tactical Ironmen who helped the Germans grab a win on the field.

We appreciate everyone who stopped by the booth, whether it was to purchase a hot new Dye product, test out one of our markers, or just say hey to Rocky, Mr. U & the rest of the Dye crew.  Also a big thanks goes out to Paul, Sky, and the Skirmish USA crew who never fail to put on an epic paintball event year after year.
